History of NewGRF specs:
This is to help out about the Whys? and WTFs? on decisions in the past.

The history is divided into these parts:
  • Till TTDPatch 2.0.1 alpha 57: The specs were a text file within the TTDPatch source. This repository is a reconstruction/recovery of that file from the ashes of TTDPatch.
  • TTDPatch 2.0.1 alpha 58 to alpha 68: The development in this era is lost. The specs were maintained in a TikiWiki, which turned out to be incapable of recording history.
  • TTDPatch 2.0.1 alpha 69 to OpenTTD 0.7: This is where the TTDPatch SVN repository starts. Changes and features to NewGRF and their context can be found here.
  • OpenTTD 0.7 and later: At this point OpenTTD is best to take as reference.
