OpenGFX: OpenGFX 0.2.0 (1 comment)

Added by Ammler over 10 years ago

It's the first version of this base set which features a complete set of all necessary sprites, thus it is fully functional and nicely playable. You can obtain it from the usual download locations, that is from either bananas or the devzone at http://bundles.openttdcoop.org/opengfx/releases

At this point I'd like to thank all people who contributed to this set and made it become reality, you all did a very good job! A special thanks goes in my opinion towards Zephyris who drew an amazing amount of sprites throughout the two years of development so far (it's not a direct measure for the sprite count, but the authors table counts 257 entries related to him at least partially out of 399 in total) and who also took it into his hands to come up with the last missing sprites and speed up the process to this full release.

Work of course will continue in the quest to improve this set and make it better and better.

For now: enjoy!

Today we give you the first complete release of OpenSFX: the sound replacement project or what OpenGFX is for graphics OpenSFX is for sounds.

It can be downloaded from http://bundles.openttdcoop.org/opensfx/releases/

I would like to thank all who have helped making/editing the samples for this set. Our major source of samples is freesound.org and Janis Lukss, Jklamo and Richard Wheeler have been very helpful by editing/mixing the samples to the results we now have.

DevZone Help Center: New Server

Added by Ammler over 10 years ago

In the next 2 weeks, we will move the #openttdcoop services to a new server, please report any issues on #openttdcoop or #openttdcoop.devzone (Highlight Ammler or planetmaker). Another contact possibility might be email: . (or simply comment here)

In the movements we might also change some urls like for the mercurial pull/push or other things to make it easier. Another goal is to improve the openid login.

Theoretically, there should be no down time of any service, so please alarm us as soon as something doesn't work as it should. :-)

Today the third release of OpenSFX: the sound replacement project or what OpenGFX is for graphics OpenSFX is for sounds.

It can be downloaded from http://bundles.openttdcoop.org/opensfx/releases/

It currently replaces 59 of 73 samples (81%), which means only 14 toyland sounds have to be found/created. After that there's still lots of tweaking to do.

OpenGFX: OpenGFX 0.1.1 release

Added by Ammler over 10 years ago

The version issues for package maintainers are gone, as of now, alpha is gone. But be aware, it is still not complete. We just changed the version naming system, earlier alpha releases are 0.0.X, the beta version is renamed to 0.2.0. Stable will be 1.0.0. (if ever ;-)

But we still keep the same policy, our biggest aim is to make the replacement complete (version 0.2.0), then to improve the existing set, if there is need.

So let us hunt the last missing sprites, the African faces and some toyland. It should be possible to finalize the set, only around 3% is missing!

Right here you go: an unofficial I-asked-nobody-and-nobody-asked-me teaser for the BR Set. DJ Nekkid did the same thing for me with HEQS, and it was a nice spur to get the thing done.

Contents: 1 x class 20 in Blue*, courtesy Dan MacK. Completely unrealistic stats, and I won't warrant the code is good, I've never done trains before. I don't know what use it is, but it goes in circles nicely.

  • Yep Pikka has already done that. But hey, this one's more...blue

OpenSFX: OpenSFX 0.1.0-alpha2

Today we made the second release of OpenSFX: the sound replacement project or what OpenGFX is for graphics OpenSFX is for sounds.

It can be downloaded from http://bundles.openttdcoop.org/opensfx/releases/

It currently replaces 50 of 73 samples (68%), which means only 7 non-toyland vehicle sounds and 16 toyland sounds have to be found. After that there's still lots of tweaking to do.

OpenGFX: OpenGFX 0.1.0-alpha6 released

Added by planetmaker almost 11 years ago

This version has all sprites now for tropical, temperate and arctic climate and made also some progress in the toyland climate. Kudos to all who worked on it and contributed! Most urgently needed are the African manager faces and the missing toyland industries and houses. Let's see them get incorporated in order to get a feature-complete beta version.
