As this can be avoided by not using -c it's not of immediate concern.
The easy way to find out is to "just" load / generate maps and go through the glitching sprites. The tropical testgame for OpenGFX has quite a few, mostly tracks and roads.

grfcodec -c could optimize grf sizes significantly, as we use sometimes quite big templates

r414 does enable grfcodec -c again
