The latest tracking table...
A stupid question, but how do I delete old files here?

#2 Updated by Voyager1 over 8 years ago

Look at the yellowish area on top... There's a trash can icon right of the file attached. Just click it.

I can do it too but try for yourself... :-))

BTW, I couldn't find it myself in te beginning... :-))))

#3 Updated by EmperorJake over 8 years ago

??? I do not see it. I must be blind and/or stupid.

It's this icon, just left of the attached file names and their sizes... :-))

I think you're right, I just dont see it.

... Add me please? How do I get added?

Anyway, here's the finished wagons so far. They're in a zip because there is a file separate for each wagon, and it's easier this way.

I'm thinking if we should add a parameter-alike thing to filter the cargo wagons, much like we're planning with the engines and MUs.

I don't know if people would want a shorter depot list with only the basic wagons they need, rather than a huge list of all kinds of wagons which can transport the same stuff.

Any ideas?

#17 Updated by Voyager1 over 8 years ago

Well, OTTD already has a filter by cargo type, that can shorten the depot list. I don't know if you've thought of something else like filter by "generation" or... I really don't know how to filter them.

#18 Updated by Purno over 8 years ago

To be very honest, I'm really not up to date with all OpenTTD features. I haven't played in ages.

However, what I imagine is people who want a very long list with lots of choices with fun looking cargo wagons (lets just admit many of them will just be eye-candy), but another person my get confused by such a long list, lost on which wagon he needs, and might be better off with a simple TTD-alike vehicle list.

#19 Updated by EmperorJake over 8 years ago

Don't old wagons disappear from the list if "Vehicles never expire" is off?

#20 Updated by Purno over 8 years ago

Old wagons, yes. But not wagons of a specific type which doesn't add any new cargos to transport.

I'm not familiar with ECS and stuff, but I remember that the DB Cargo Set had several wagons to transport Goods (Tankers, Flatbeds, Containers, Car-carriers, etc), while the original TTD only had one (Goods Van).

If we're gonna add as many cargo wagons as we did with engines and MUs, the list might get a tad too complicated for some players perhaps, who might get confused: "Which of these 100 wagons do I use to transport Goods?"

Just some thinking here :P

I have the same idea that I've suggested to DJ regarding engine "filtering"...

To make a separate GUI for choosing available engines (or wagons). I don't know if that is possible regarding coding and stuff like that.

#22 Updated by Purno over 8 years ago

What do you mean? How would this "filtering" work?

#23 Updated by EmperorJake over 8 years ago

How about an option (parameter) to only display the "basic" selection of wagons, ie no car carriers, silos, container wagons, only hopper, boxcar, flatbed and tanker. (similar to what we have now)

#24 Updated by Purno over 8 years ago

That's roughly the idea, to be able to switch between the full list and a basic list of cargo wagons.

#25 Updated by Voyager1 over 8 years ago

The GUI I suggested would work like this... BTW this is a crazy idea, I don't know if it is possible to make or anything else...

Imagine the "train tracks" window in-game with Nutracks and all different available tracks. Similar, when 2cc set is loaded, you would be able to open a GUI window with buttons for each vehicle "type" - clicking green/red would enable/disable that "type" (similar like the game's advanced menu GUI).

I really don't know if something like that is possible to make. That's what you guys are for... :-))

#26 Updated by Purno over 8 years ago

I totally got no clue to what kind of GUI you're referring to. Got a screenshot of that GUI?

#27 Updated by EmperorJake over 8 years ago

It's the parameter GUI in newer versions of openttd. see http://wiki.openttd.org/NewGRF_Documentation

#28 Updated by Voyager1 over 8 years ago

THAT'S IT! Thank you Jake! :-)

#30 Updated by Purno over 8 years ago

Then we can assume that when we have parameters, we also got that GUI? :P
(Would stop the confusion xD )
